__Effectively immediately, I will no longer be accepting new clients.
After
16 great years on the road, my consulting operations have been
suspended indefinitely, because I am going to work full time for a great
family-owned newspaper company, Sandusky Newspapers.
I am Vice President of Sales for the Northeast Tennessee Marketing Group. I will be responsible for Inside Sales (including classifieds, small business initiatives, and "long-tail" projects). The Newspapers are the Kingsport Times-News, the Johnson City Press, the Erwin Record, The Tomahawk (Mountain City) and The Herald & Tribune (Jonesborough). These newspapers are all within shouting distance of my existing home in Johnson City, TN.
It
will be great to spend more nights with my family, and to only have one
big revenue budget to meet each year, instead of several dozen.
This site will come down soon, so copy and save anything you want from it.
Meanwhile, if you need Classified Training or design work, I recommend that you contact my friend Janet DeGeorge at Classified Executive Training. If you liked my training, you'll like Janet's training. She and I disagree on politics, but we are absolutely on the same page with what's needed in classifieds. http://www.classifiedexecutivetraining.com/ ___________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________
Wishing just doesn't help with turning around classified line-ad revenues and profit margins. The trick to growing classified profits in today's business climate is knowing the difference between what actually works and what just sounds like a good idea. Then the right action has to be taken to make sure plans turn into actual practices. From basic training-only tune-ups, to full classified-department overhauls, Richard Clark Classifieds has the deep base of knowledge and the current first-hand in-field experience to make things happen in your classified department.
Services include: cost and rate structuring analysis, classified manager training, sales rep training, design and development. of classified products for print and online, adding effective new online and mobile operations to your existing print franchise, as well as launch of well-organized outbound prospecting.
Short of a time machine, there's no way to go back to the "good old days" when growing classified revenues was easy. Still, there are a great many opportunities to grow profitable revenues and improve the franchise. Unfortunately, most newspaper classified operations are so stuck in the traditional way of operating the department that most of these new revenue stream opportunities go unrealized. Are you ready to turn things around?
It is time to stop hunkering down and hoping. Instead, you need a solid nuts-and-bolts plan of action to transform your classified operation into a true sales force that grows revenues and profits month after month, year after year.
